Makita 2012NB blades
I have got this thicknesser and reading the handbook
Makita are quoting that standard blades can be fitted instead of trow away's,
but then I asked Makita service center they didn't know anything about it
Has anybody seen them???

Mine has the 'normal' blades in it. The difference is the dispo blade model is 2012NB and the normal blade one (like mine) is 2012NBSP, and costs a little more.
I think from reading the manual, the blade holder is slightly different, but otherwise the machines are the same. Perhaps the dispo blade model doesn't have the adjustable blade mounts? Something like that IIRC, and it looked like you could do a conversion if you wanted to.
I wouldn't mind the dispo blades myself. My blades need sharpening, but I've never had a chance to do it (cash poor, then time poor) and slipping in a new blade would save getting it done or doing it myself (even though I've got a wet grinder that'll do the job...).
They exist, and the normal blades cost (here) about $80 a pair.
What else would you need to know?
Stu.
