Thumbs up Planer thicknesser advice wanted

I recently had the chance to buy a dewalt DW1151 planer/thicknesser. It was in great condition and complete with origional manual and a spare set of blades, for $500, but i missed out. I am a newbie, and was wondering if this was a bargain price and what are my options for a good used machine in that price range. I am in Melbourne and would appreciate all the advice i can get. Cheers Greg

I wouldn't worry about whether it was a bargain or not, its gone and you can't change that unfortunately. Most of these things, in good condition and one of the top brand names, sell pretty fast so you have to move fairly quickly on them if you want to buy one. Good luck next time.
