Default Shop Fox "shaper" with router spindle

I had an interesting on-line chat with Soundman and others about a decent router table cum shaper.

The common theme was that both shapers (spindle moulders) and router tables were "at the max" i.e. they wouldn't improve any more.

What I was really asking / after was a router table with the precision of a spindle moulder, esp around the tool height adjustment and the fences.

Well, lo and behold, I was looking back through an old magazine and found a 1HP router table advertised by Shop Fox. Specs include a fixed router speed of 13200 rpm, cast iron top, independently adjustable fences and more. A router table essentially in the guise of a moulder. No variable speed motor though.

So I was very interested to say the least.

It appears we don't have anything like it in Oz.

But I do like the features on offer, notably an increase in speed to 13200 rpm (most spindle moulders travel at 10000rpm, hardly adequate for many router bits). Independent fences, cast top etc. seem very handy.

Anyone seen or used the Fox machine? Surely, there must be something coming out of Taiwan that is imported to Oz.

Any and all feedback most welcome. A router lift, table and decent fences bought separately seem most extravagant for what you get.

If you really want a great spindle moulder/router table the go for the Felder: Sliding table, tilting spindle, adjustable fences with safety fence inserts, variable speed, swappable spindles to take 30mm, 1 1/4", 3/4" amd router bits with the router spindle upping the speed top about 1500 rpm (from memory). I really want the combination panel saw/spindle moulder but can't really justify it at teh moment (or find the $$ )
