remember common sense NEVER stand behind the thickener when working they are a weapon and would kill or maim if they kick back even with anti kickback fingers.

Thanks for telling me. I didn't know that. The way I had it setup for testing it was impossible to stand behind it because I had it at the end of the assembly table. One has to stand beside it to feed and retrieve the timber. So perhaps I'll always use it that way.

It is always good practice to place yourself to the side of material being fed into a machine. Never directly behind the material.
