1500w Combination Planer Thicknesser
I see that Aldi have a 1500w Combination Planer Thicknesser for $299 next weekend
I can not find any info as to what company made it for them , any ideas ?
Its in the junkmail but not yet on website
Is it a good value buy or a noisy piece of junk without a source for blades ect. ?

I just saw this too, It has peaked my interest.
I'm a little hesitant of such tools, but it is tempting.
Is the planer side of things usable as a jointer? that would make it very much more tempting.

It's the same rig as a brand name in the UK, and co-planer tables is not a concept the manufacturer understands.....
I saw a video review of it last year, and probably the most concerning part was the guy bashing his fist at the table to make the adjustment.
The other concerning part is the weight - or lack of it. I saw a guy carry one out of Aldi under one arm.
I think you might find that it's a POS (and that's not Point Of Sale).

I worked for a company that supplied ALDI with electrical products. Their opinion was that the products that they sold ALDI were rubbish.
Apparently ALDI sets the price that they wish to buy at, and regardless, the supplier has to comply otherwise all their other contracts suffer. Sometimes you can be lucky with a purchase, and sometimes not.

Check on YouTube quite a few people use them and seem to go ok with some changes to the fence https://youtu.be/rTjFkFWQ51g

I have one that is branded Rockwell (Mitre 10) The thicknesser works well but the planer side of things is a dead loss. Get a board half way across the planer and it fails to continue the cut. I have adjusted the blade height and checked the infeed/outfeed tables and nothing has helped cure the problem. On a seperate note contacted Mitre 10 on price of blades (Knives) $79! Flee bay from the UK $43 incl. delivery!

Hey guys! So I bought that Aldi thicknesser/planer and long story short, do any of you guys know where I can get my in- and outfeed tables lapped/machined totally flat? Recently realized they are bit curved and even with DIY and modified fence, results are not satisfying.
