Default Can I add a height winder to a cheaper drill press?

I'm researching how to build aa drill press table

But my current drill press is a less expensive model and doesn't come with a have a height winder crank nor matching teeth.

Is there a way to add a drill press table with a height winder crank and matching teeth.
    Or something like it?

    Too much trouble?
To easy to just buy another drill press with a height winder?

    Thanks in advance . . .
    Thanks,

Adding an "easy riser" may be an easier option.

I made my own but you can buy them from Timbecon.

My DP table and cross slide vice are very heavy so the counterweight needs to be more than twice as heavy as the standard counterweight so my counterweight hang outside the column behind the DP where it doesn't get in teh way..

Just wondering if it would be practical for a bench top drill press?
    Anyone?

    Thanks in advance.

Moving the table down is easy enough because once the table is loosened the table sort of goes down with a small amount of down pressure

I've found the easy riser works better for floor standing DPs because you can place one foot under on the base under the table and use that to counteract the lifting force as you go to hike it upwards.

People with an easy riser on their bench top model might care to comment.
