I think all most people here want to do is help but of course there are going to be differences of opinion. Some people will be quite forthright about theirs and others will be 'take it or leave it'.
It's difficult, especially when dealing with a new poster, to determine what skill-level and experience there might be. I think that we can all be forgiven for assuming a novice-level given your forum name
The problem is that woodworking CAN be a dangerous pastime. You only have to look at a recent thread regarding a thumb injury with a tablesaw to see how easily things can go wrong.
So if you've never used one of these machines before, I think it's fairly important that you understand the risks involved so that you don't get yourself into trouble. Any one of the machines discussed can put you in hospital. I don't think anyone has been killed by a bandsaw, but tablesaws and chainsaws have certainly claimed lives.
At the end of the day, it's up to what you feel comfortable with. But I would hate to try and cut that stuff with one of those old saws"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Nicely said SilentC. I think everyone WAS trying to help in their own way.
Death by table or band saw is very unlikely, but injury is common, particularly with the table saw, and having to make multiple passes just increases the risk. Also, I reckon that just lifting those timbers (220x115x~2400?) onto the table or band saw can cause an injury

You’ve said it SilentC. I think the most important thing to consider is that you understand the risks involved to avoid from getting trouble. If you think this way, surely, you would obey every safety rule there is.
