    Default Compressor

Hi All, I am in th market for a Compressor.

    I am tossing between these:
SYDNEY TOOLS - Chicago Air 50L 2x1.1HP Aluminium Compressor
SYDNEY TOOLS - Dari 50L 2HP Belt Drive Air Compressor Bonus 71pcs Kit & Air Hose

It will be used only occasionally. Maybe a little painting, pump the tyres up in the car, nail gun for a cubby house, sand blasting, etc. Realistically, after the first month of novelty, I am sure it will get used once a month maybe.

I hear no-oil are good for this type of use, but given the prices are similar, why not get the oil version?

THe No Oil version seems to be one of their big sellers, but for the same price is the other a option at all, or is it a cheap oil version which will give me more issues in the long run.

    Any thoughts please?

    thanks for your help
    greg

When I am buying something I like to know where it is made. I see the Dari is Italian Engineered but is that like the label on the clothing that says 'designed in Australia' but made in that country that begins with a "C". Is the Chicago out of India? Had a quick search on the Internet but I am still not sure where either one is made.

They both sound good, but is it glossy marketing?

Trying to fool people to thinking it's 'Chicago Pneumatic' brand???

    Greg,
For an extra $100 you could pick up a Peerless or Pilot Air belt drive, which are both quality units.

Although a cheaper, but quality brand direct drive might be more suited to your use?

There are plenty of deals going on for air compressors, not only at tool shops but also the hardware stores. Your need for air will depend on what you are using it for so bear this in mind when purchasing. (Sand blasting may need a good supply.)
If you are unsure of the brand, how easy will it be to return the unit if it fails in warranty period, or would it be cheaper to just replace. Sometimes a few extra dollars buys peace of mind.
