Anyone had any experiences with the 400KG mobile base from Timbecon?
https://www.timbecon.com.au/site-sho...g-machine-base
Looking to pick one of these up for my 10" Woodfast Jointer but I want to be sure they're not rubbish, will spend more if they're not up to snuff. Can anyone comment?

Or alternatively there is this one which supports 540KG from Beyond Tools, same price.

I have one similar to the beyond tools one which I have my jointer sitting on. It is handy, however mine only has turning on one end so isn't as manoeuverable as I'd like sometimes. I don't joint a great deal of stuff so the occasional not sitting on a solid flat surface doesn't bother me, but if it was regularly being used I would certainly stand it alone without a mobile base.

Cheers mate. The fixed castors is something that worries me about the Timbecon model, I like locking, rotating castors on all 4 corners otherwise they're a pain to manoeuvre. Might have to keep looking or weld up my own.

I have a old lightweight version of the Timbecon mobile base.
I bought it for my TS some 11 years ago but after I decided to fix to a specific spot for dusty collection purposes I put the base onto my Combo machine.
I forget the weight rating but the combo was well inside the weight specs.
I was one like this one

The first problem I had was two of the rubber wheels developed a flat spot which made it a pig to move.
The same pair of the wheels ended up sitting in a shallow pool of chainsaw bar oil for a few weeks and the rubber completely disintegrated. I have replaced them and its OK.

Cheers Bob. You make a good point about flat spots on the wheels, surprising they don't use polyurethane tyres but I suppose they've got to cut costs. Could be another vote for making my own.

Another option worth considering are levelling casters, they can handle the weight, lock really well and allow you to level your machines.
I have both a mobile base and leveling casters, the casters would work much better on a jointer IMO.

I have a similar mobile base on my combo jointer thicknesser .. and I TOTALLY AGREE that the ones with 4 swivel < and locking< wheels are so much better.
Trying to maneuver the machine out from the wall, and getting it back in close again with just 2 swivel wheels is really annoying, like trying to dock a liner against the pier.
