Just to complete the thread - here is the bench I made for the saw, which is recycled heavily abused lab desk

And here is the saw before it made its first cut

Beauty... now put a block on each end that is the same height as the saw turntable, use a long straight edge across the saw table to get it right.

It works to extend the support of longer pieces to stop them from dropping down as you finish the cut.

Thanks Cliff - will definitely make the extension blocks for longer pieces support. The saw table also extends a bit itself, which is handy.

On a different topic - I was cutting several pieces clamped together (28 slats, each 8mm thick), and I like large cutting capacity! All done in one go, and perfectly identical.

Default SCMS Decisions, Decisions. Metabo KGS 315 plus????

    Hi All,
I have been trying to decide which SCMS my kids should buy me for Christmas.
Although I haven't seen one in the flesh, I rather like the features and capacity of the Metabo KGS 315 plus (not to mention that most of the Metabo tools that I have ever bought, can still be found, in working condition, somewhere in my workshop)
After trying to find some reviews, apart from the shops selling them, I have come to the conclusion that no one seems to own one.
Has anyone out there got one???????
Or had their hands on one??????
Once again, this is a great forum, but I am never sure if I am in the right (or best) place.
    Thanks All
    Slim

Slim, best to start a new thread in this sub-forum above this one. You might get an answer here but your chances are better weith your own thread.
