    45/64" = 17.86 mm but seeing seeing as its only Al that is being tapped then using an 17.5 mm or an 11/16" bit should be OK.

    I have one here if you need to borrow it.

    If you want to get fancy you can also borrow an adjustable reamer to open up the hole a little more so the tap will bite more easily.

    Practice on a piece of Al before trying the compressor,
