    Default Part identification?

Wondering if anyone can identify what this is part of.
Its black nylon, hexagonal cross section, 25cm long, 5mm across the flats, with a 20cm long centimeter/millimeter scale moulded on one face, although with no numbers.
    No other markings.

It's a depth guide for an electric drill, probably black & Decker.

It fits into a hexagonal hole in the front handle; the one that clamps around the collar behind the chuck that usually gets thrown away as being un-manly
Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

They turn up every where in my shed because the first thing I do when I acquire a new drill is remove the useless thing and put it down somewhere

Thanks everyone, I'll try to restore it to its rightful owner.
