Hi Jon, have you resolved this yet, I have a 22/44 PRO I am not sure if they use the same controller though?

Thanks for replying, I rang Carbatec and one of the Spare Parts boys were able to read the Value of the resistor off a new board 10K Ohm 10 watt. Thanks to Carbatec. I will get the Sander up and running again for 60 cents instead of $300.00.

I have a Carbatec wide belt sander where I also had a problem with the speed controller unit for the conveyor belt. I got in my local electrical specialists who service lots of local industrial conveyors and they replaced the complete electrical controller unit with a top line USA unit that has built in overloads and now it all works fine. A lot of the sanding machines sold in Australia from Taiwan and China have low cost light duty electricals that do not hold up under heavy use. I am not suggesting that Taiwanese or Chinese manufacturing is the issue but rather the local sellers who order to minimum specs to keep local prices down.
With sanding machines this issue is further compounded by users who tend to try and remove too much material in one pass and then overload the machine.

Paintman the Jet Sander we have has oveload protection fitted, The issue with these unit are that the On/Off switch only controls power to the Drum Sander motor not the Conveyor Belt Motor. To switch off the conveyor motor you have to turn the speed dial to Zero. Hence our conveyor was left running one saturday, When we returned the next weekend it was no Longer working. I replaced the Burnt out resistor and we are all back up and running. It cost $0.69 to fix instead of a new $300.00 Module.
