New jointer blades
Hi again everyone,
Have been doing a real makeover on the workshop.
I have a 6inch Delta 37-190 jointer. I bought this secondhand a while back but have not got a whole lot of use out of it as I never took the time to set it up properly. Well that has changed today and I am trying to get her working like new...
I want to buy some new blades, now this is my first jointer so forgive the ignorance- will any 6inch blade fit any 6 inch jointer?
Ie I can pick up the correct blades off amazon for approx $100 AU
http://www.amazon.com/37-658-Knives-.../dp/B00002238E
Or carbatec 6 inch blades for $39--
https://www.carbatec.com.au/blades/p...ize-155x12x3mm
Id much prefer to buy the 40$ aftermarket blades but was unsure if they would fit?!
Kind Regards,
Andrew

The Carbatec ones should fit ok, just pull out one of the Jet blades and measure it. If it has any funny indents or holes that are required for bolting it down then you'll have to go with the OEM but pretty much all 6" jointer take basic blades roughly 1/2" wide, 6" long and 1/8" thick.

Hi Andrew,
why not have the old one's sharpened?
Should cost about $10-15 total at your local saw sharpening service.
Regards, Jeff
