Well, I've now made most of the covers for my woodworking machines from cheap canvas drop-cloths, as mentioned in a previous post. I'm pretty happy with them - though they do look like a bunch of klansmen lined up against the garage wall.

I think it's worth doing just from an aesthetic viewpoint, they look so tidy now I will surely be inspired to keep the rest of the shed tidy too .

One thing I haven't covered yet is the table saw. The only practical location for it is nearest the garage door. On a rainy day I sometimes have mishaps with the garage door which leads to droplets on the cast iron top. So I want a cover that is both completely waterproof and not likely to cause condensation underneath.

Any ideas?

In the previous post someone mentioned BBQ covers. I think that's heading in the right direction but because of the size of the table saw (including router wing) I would have to buy quite a few and sew then up, not ideal.

And on a similar note, it looks likely that I will have to store these machines for 6 months to a year, beginning in two or three months. One option is paid self-storage. Another option is an unused shed at our holiday home, the trouble there is that it is seaside and everything gets covered in a fine salt spray that makes the place a complete and amazing rust-factory. After reviewing previous posts, I have almost decided to use CRC 3-36 as the surface coating. Any comments on this. Do you think it will do the job if left unattended for long periods. I guess I could get in to reapply every 2-3 months, but not sure I could do it any more often.

Cheers
