I have a Ryobi DP263 "industrial" pedestal drill press that i bought a few years ago.

Not a bad machine but the chuck had some serious run-out from new.

Something you should check no matter which brand you choose.

I am not sure why its called a TruPro on the website. I think that is just the new Woodman brand name. Its the same drill. The model number of my woodman even begins with 'TP' which I am assuming refers to TruPro. Check my photo you will see the model numbers match. If you go into WWWH their display model is a woodman, and what you get in the cardboard is most likely going to be a woodman as well.

This is my drill press, ignore the name on the website its still a woodman. The model is TP-1601F.

The bench version of my drill press is the TP-1601B

Contact Wanita or David at WWWH for a price. But I am pretty sure they have a special price way cheaper than the website. I think it was around the $260 but might even be cheaper. I did get it even cheaper myself as I spent $6300 all at once

    Cheers

The Ryobi manual lists this same method for getting the chuck on. However they recommend using a block of wood on the table to spread the load. It's a pity the woodman manual is not updated to be the same as the ryobi!

That's a nice looking drill press man. How high does the floor standing model stand?

Just wandered out to the shed to check. It stands about 1600mm high. Here is a full length photo (sorry about the lighting, fluros and my camera don't go together that well!

I did'nt realise you had to do this with a bit of force when putting mine together. Turned it on the the first time and the chuck went across the workshop floor like a spinning top

Best way is to move the table out of the way and use a longish piece of 90x45 or similer down to the base plate of the drill press.
