ozito wet stone grinder
gday fellas
has anyone had any experience with these wet grinders? they are only 80 bucks so i might give it a go.
i can see where the tool rest for the wet stone is it dosent have the same type as a tormek so im a bit confused, ive never used a electric wet stone grinder before.

I am going to buy one for myself for Christmas. It has a 3 year replacement warranty and further info is available at [URL="http://www.ozito.com.au/bench-grinder-wet-amp-dry"]
The wet stone does not have a precise tool rest so I intend to build one from steel that can be bolted to a piece of timber together with the grinder.

Would probably have been less expensive and more efficient to have the wetstone on the end of the shaft than at right angles. Odd design.

I think the wetstone is driven via a reduction gearbox Art.

I have had one for a couple of years.
Don't expect to do any accurate/ fine sharpening on it. It is not a Tormek or even a Sheppach.
I have replaced the small wheel with a buffing wheel and use the wet wheel for when i need to remove large amounts of metal from chipped/brokem/abused blades.
It is very good at doing that.

True, but surely it could be done so that the wheels run in the same plane.

I saw one of these at Bunnings recently. I couldn't see if there was a provision for a honing guide for the wetstone. If it comes with out one, then it would be next to useless.
