Default Portable-ish drill press with stand recommendations for on site metal drilling

    Hi all,

I was looking for recommendations on drill presses (and stumbled across this forum ) as I need a drill press that's accurate, portable and powerful enough to drill 27mm holes into 1.5mm stainless steel handrail without too much effort.

Would also need to mount it on site and am considering modding a mitre saw stand with rollers to place the drill press on top (would this work or even be safe?).

Any recommendations on drill presses. I'm quite impressed on paper with the BD-325 Bench version at the moment.

Gasweld supplies Toolex drill presses but I can't find much information about them. This drill is extremely light but my concern is it'll take too long to drill the 100 holes I need: 532216 | Drill Mini 5Speed 1/2"Chuck Bench Mount | Toolex

Any other recommendations on drill presses or ideas on a portable setup would be much appreciated!

    Default Portable bench drill press

Probably better in the metalwork section. I think the drill bits and sharpening will have more impact when dealing with stainless. Not a job to be undertaken lightly.

I'd be bolting a drill press vice to a steel plate and hiring a mag drill.
