Default scheppach HF 33 Spindle Moulder

    Hi All,

I am interested in buying a small spindle moulder. I have seen that scheppach used to make one - scheppach HF 33 Spindle Moulder (See Jpegs).

Does anyone know where I could find one?

Are there other brands with similar machines?

    Thanks

Your best bet is the usual suspects like Gumtree, but good luck. I doubt there were too many of these sold here. I've seen one. I thought about buying it, but thought better of it.

If you do find one, look for modern tooling to come with it or count on buying it. The one I saw had the old fashioned square-head finger-eating tooling. Those things are truly scary! Don't use those old square-head tooling sets unless being admitted to the ER with blood pouring out of you is on your bucket list...

If you can't find one with modern tooling, plan on spending multiples of what you paid for the machine on tooling.

A better question might be what do you need a spindle moulder for as opposed to another solution?

Don't get me wrong, a spindle moulder is a great machine (I have one and the tooling to use it safely) but for weekend wood-wreckers, it's probably overkill.

    Default Jet JWS 18 HO

I have a small jet spindle moulder that can also take router bits with a smaller spindle same as this one https://www.graysonline.com/lot/0008...s-li-18ho-li-s

It does what I need of it without having to go to the bigger moulder on the combination machine ,I reckon for limited space they're ideal .
These little ones can often be found as on the link above as well as Gumtree or even ebay.
