Default Snapped a colt drillbit in 3 holes

I seem to have no luck when it comes to drilling holes.

I bought a pack of colt twinland drill bits and used them for the first time today drilling into 14mm plywood.

The drill bit snapped into two after 3 holes! I'm usually pretty careful drilling straight and not tourqeing the drill.

On further inspection, it seems that the bit had a weakpoint in it, like a imperfection in the casting process.

Did I just get a lemon or are these model of bits just poor.

Generally Colt is well regarded brand.. (and quite pricey too)
    Think you've got a lemon...

They are design to last... so breaking after three holes (assuming you're not twisting it sideways) in plywood is very uncharacteristic for Colt...

Where did you purchase these drills?, have you contacted them with your problem?
