Default Taper for Jacob No.34 chuck

I have an old No.34 chuck that I would like to put on my current drill press but I need another arbor. There appears to be several models of the 34 chuck (eg. 02 and 33) but mine only shows No.34, the capacity and "made in Sheffield". I think it may be JT6 but could someone please confirm this so I can order a new arbor.

    Thanks for your help.

This might help work out what it is. There are numerous No.34 chuck models and they all seem to have a different mount.

Thanks Treecycle, I'll try measuring it and see what I come up with.

If you can see the part number on the chuck , have a look at https://www.newmantools.com/jacobs/arbors.htm

I had a few Jacobs chucks rescued from old drill presses without an arbor and I needed two morse taper arbors to use them with turning.

Went to Aussie Machines & Tools in Dandenong and got the two arbors.

I did take the chucks with me, they measured and tried the arbors. Now to keep an eye out for more drill presses being on hard rubbish days.

I would give them a call and see if they can help you.

Thanks Sturdee, I'm going to Dandenong next week so I will give them a try.

Thanks Paul. I rang Sturdee's suggestion in Dandenong and they said that they had a variety of arbors so that one will fit.
