    Default Thicknesser

    Hi
I have a Ryobi thicknesser (cheapie) with a broken drive chain, hardly used.
Is it worth fixing or should I chuck it and purchase a new one.
I'm not flushed with cash but I'm willing to wait to get the right machine.
I'm looking at cleaning up old bits of hardwood etc
Any ideas or info is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Is it not under warranty anymore?

If it was me I would save up and get a dewalt 735 but if its out of ur price range I think you can do better than the Ryobi - I think Hare and Forbes have some deals on their woodworking gear at the moment.

    Good luck either way!

Thanks Joel, it's a few years past warranty.
    I've had it in storage.
I'll have a look at the dewalt and H&F

Have you checked to see if you can get replacement chain from a pushbike shop. They are very light chains like you see on a bike and there are many different versions.

Depending, a split link may be the cheapest solution.
