Just brought Transmig 210, need some help
As the title says I just brought a transmig 210 off ebay
Now I got it because I want to create engine mounts and exhaust systems.
Possible even intercooler piping for my project cars.
Now im guessing engine mounts would be mild steel and exhaust and intercooler piping will be stainless.
The wire that is in there is Ultramag S6 (0.9mm) Can I use this for both mild and stainless or do I need a different wire?
Now comes gas, can I use one type of gas to weld stainless and mild, or will I have to get two gas bottles?
It also has a dwell time and spot time dial and a 3 way switch with (Spot, continuous and stitch) What are these used for?
Thanks heaps.

Hi Pauly
Welcome to the mob,
Why not introduce yourself and tell us about yourself and what you are about.
Sorry! but you need a different wire for stainless.I am pretty sure it is not available as fluxcore or gasless offering. If you want to mig stainless you are up for wire and gas and a regulator.
The intercoolers I have seen have been made from aluminium.I am not saying there are no stainless ones, but I have only seen aluminium ones.

Just my 2 bobs worth.www.lockwoodcanvas.com.au
I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.
From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

Ok, im a mechanical engineering student, and working this year as a student at Holden as an engineer.
So decided it was time for a project car (working full time + living at home = lots of spare cash ).
The MIG cam with a gas regulator, so I was going to pick up a bottle of something from supagas. I was hoping I could get just the one bottle for mild and stainless, is this possible?
I was going to register the car in stock form, then do all my work to it, it would only ever be taken out once in a blue moon on the streets, it will be used mostly for track days.
