    Default My first mistake

This is my 1000th post, and it coincides with the very first mistake I've ever made

In my defence, I was not actually trying to weld anything as such. I was just trying a few adjustments to the TIG torch, tungsten and the gas flow. So I placed some scrap in the vyce and watched the arc rather than the metal to see how well my tungsten was sharpened. When It seemed to be running well I kept on going to enjoy welding "in the groove".

Unfortunately, I wasn't "in the groove" as such, and as the photos show, I welded my scrap to the vyce.

    Mistake ! Nah, I Don't believe it.

You knew you needed grinding practice and made a practice piece.
We have all done similar things.

My speciality was welding through the job to the bench top.

Cheers an have a good week end.

    Default Cool!

I find that very comforting. Looks alot like when I welded my vise grips to my vise. That is why they call 'em that ain't it?
