if ya spraying you are far better off with thinners bassed, superetch than the turps bassed killrust version ...... I buy superetch by the 20 and it lasts pretty damn fine in storage ...... i've found pretty much any turps bassed finish will tend to spray like jam ..... i only use the killrust version if I am spot brushing and need the bulld.

superetch brushes just fine , if ya not looking for a build.

    cheers

The thinners it's based on - is there a cheap alternative? E.g. if I run out on a Sunday and need to do cleanup can I just use metho or turps from a hardware chain? Or do I need to find the right stuff? And where do you buy industrial paint anyway?

The thinners is just standard "GP thinners", available from any auto refinish supplier or for an inflated price in small quantities from auto discount shops.

Its worth finding your nearest auto refinish supplier ... they have many handy things and way cheaper than the harware stores.

My local carries the entire septone range in addition to all the expected car painting stuff.

Industrial paints ... well again .... most likley not at a retail hardware ...... many specialist independent paint stores carry industrial product ...... I have a wattyl trade counter nearby & I buy from there.

No matter what it is ...... you can probably buy better and get a better choice at suppliers other than retail hardware shops.

    cheers
