Methinks you may wish to do a bit of revising of whether or not to switch to LPG and Oxygen, or stay with Oxy/Acetylene.

Oh yes, I have considered the Bunnings option......the changes in the gas market have been discussed in another thread.
Unfortunately the swap & go bunnings option does not extend to QLD....YET.
But I recon they will grab a lot of the D bottle oxy/acetylene market...and that is not just hobbyists...that is every plumber and fridgie.....OR some of the other players may have to drop their price.
The small gas user has been copping the rough end of a very large pineapple for far too long.
In the past few weeks i have spoken to a few people who are or have been volume gas users......the price we, the small volume user have been charged is utterly obsceen......in many other markets it would be called profiteering and would see the operators in jail or fined very large summs.

I didn't know here had been discussion already, although being away for nearly 4 months this year and with sporadic web access, may have had something to do with that.

Many thanks, didn't know about that thread, obviously missed it due to being away for the first three months then September and October until last week. Amazing just what you can glean from this forum if you monitor it reasonably regularly.
I did ask how long they had been selling these cylinders (D size Oxy/Acetylene) and I was told only a few weeks as there was no in store person who had completed the indoctrination course for this product line. So maybe the roll out will happen, albeit slightly slower.
Whatever, I'm as happy as anything and have already used my cylinders to do a bit of welding, coz I could.
