Before I had read any of the comments about machine selection, I bought myself a "Rossi p200iS multi function - ac/dc tig, pulse, mma, plus plasma cutter.

Its been fine for 2 years, although really not used a lot.

Fired it up boxing day, all the lights are on but there are no electrons at home, at least none interested in making the trek down to the hand piece and back via the work lead.

I get a hf pilot arc using tig, but no welding voltage.
Yes I checked for a good earth.
Can any learned forum members provide any guidance?

I'd rather attempt a repair before replacing as the budget has been stretched by other domestic projects recently..

(and I just sold my arc welder because I didn't need it....)
