    Default welding cast iron to steel

    Hi, I need to tack/ stick-weld some decorative cast iron to a steel angle frame.

    My research says that Cigweld CASTCRAFT 55 is the go.

    These are only sold in 2.5 Kg packs..(probably expensive) ...no Handy-Pack option.
    I would never use a box quantity.
    I only need about 5 rods ....either 2.5mm/3.2mm doesn't matter.

    Does anyone have a box of rods? and willing to part with a few ? for this one-off project.

    Please send a PM if you are able to help...to negotiate a deal.

    I have oxy/acet and could use Nickel-bronze rod but I would prefer to tack with a stick.
    I don't have a MIG......yet!

    Any assistance really appreciated

    Try braizing it on , needs a good flux , I found tinning flux works well

    Make sure you preheat the cast iron and the angle ( the entire job) which ever way you choose to weld it, and let it return to ambient temperature slowly, I have had situations where just by laying cast on a concrete floor cools it too quickly and you will get some cracking, especialy with two different metals
