I wouldv'e thought after all these years someone would have done something to prevent all those cutting discs, welding rods and everything else walking off site but it doesn't seem like it. What a strange culture that company has.

Anything Pferd is the ducks guts N you can pick them up here:
Australian Industrial Abrasives :: Pferd cutting wheels
Ive also recently been trying out some gear from Smith and Arrow that isnt high end industrial quality......... But the performance offers good value for money and would suit all but the most demanding needs!.............

Hey There,
I use 1mm Abrasaflex discs, from the salvage yard down the road, about $2.00 each and if you buy 10 you usually get 12.
As for Uncle AL ( ALCOA) I think that there is a big change in the wind, and the Freebee store will be shutting down soon ,

I've been using the Smith & Arrow discs, and they're fantastic value for money. The 180x1.6 discs are really quite good.

smith and arrow 5" from ebay - price is good, quality is better than the last lot of "discount discs" I bought - flexovit when the local store has them on sale.

I've had a good trot out of the flexovit stuff over the years, this pferd stuff seems pretty good too.
There is some generic stuff comming in and some of that isn't bad ( some of it is not at all nice), might not last quite as long as the to better brands, but the better stuff is all right.
The trade tools wheels may not be wonderfull but at least they seem consistent and dont misbehave.
I have experienced some pretty poor stuff in the past....I wont touch "Bear".
things might have improved, but we had a batch of bear where we would use 3 to 1 against flexovit to do the same job...and they only had 1 layer of mesh where the flexovit had 2..... much more prone to chipping and exploding.
ya looking for something that is well balanced regularly shaped and consistent as a priority all else will generaly follow.
I came upon a handfull of ALDI 5 inch disks..... they aren't horrible but they sure arent nice....a little irregular and prone to skitter at first.... but I havn't had one blow up or chip out.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

I posted the same question a short time ago. You will find the same answers in that thread.
