Black Marples?no7
Hi all bought this a little while ago just wanted to find out more about this plane have red Marples and when tuned work great.
This was is Black same length as Stanley no7 but thats where it gets different much much heavier overall as well as thicker just about everywhere is this fake? Or did Marples make a black series and if so are they any good? Just by weight should be good when tuned but I'm certainly not an expert any help would be appreciated or where to find some cheers heaps. I'll attach couple of pics.

I have a Marpels No4 and it is a heavy beast compared to a Stanley. It is red but I think black ones are about also. Sometimes the extra weight is just what you need. Your plane is most likely what it says it is as I cant see anyone going to the trouble of making fakes. Cleaned and set up it should make a decent worker. I did find this that shows black Marples are around.
