Block Plane Question
I purchased a Stanley 9 1/2 off flee bay and this is what turned up... anyone know what it is? The only markings I can find is "Made in USA" on the iron and on the rear under the adjuster. I am thinking a worthless piece of junk.

I've no idea - not a standard Stanley block plane (it looks like a 110 to which a 220 adjuster has been added).
Perhaps you should contact Hans Brunner or Patrick Leach to see if they can help you to identify it.Cheers

Thanks Jeremy.....The way the adjuster has been fitted just looks cheap and nasty... It is about the size of a 220 but I am thinking one of those hardware store cheap knock offs.
This what I thought I was getting.... Close Hey..

Yep, it's a 110 with an adjuster from a 60-1/2 on it.
Got to know what you are buying, because there are plenty on eBay selling stuff who don't and don't describe accurately. Can also find a bargain that way... where sellers have something amazing that is miss described.

I have found that the Rapier 12 and the Record 0120 look like this although this one is neither of these...it does show that there were plenty of manufacturers wanting a part of Stanley's market

Hi Gaza
Was the plane misrepresented by the ebay seller, or were you confused
Depending on how heavy the casting is, it might tune up.
What you have looks a bit like a block plane my father had -- his description was "never much good" -- but with a thick after market blade, it worked OK as a small one-handed plane to bevel edges and the like.regards from Alberta, Canada

Apparently he accidentally sent the wrong plane.... I guess if you have heaps of stuff going out it can happen.....been given a full refund and get to keep this one......its in pretty good condition so will give it a tune up and see how it goes.... Might be a good user
