HTPAA Tools and Trades Day
Every two years the Hand Tool Preservation Association of Australia (HTPAA) holds a special day dedicated to historical hand tools where speakers talk about their trade's tools and demonstrate the use of them. The date is Saturday July 7th (this year) and the venue is St Anthony's hall in Carnegie (Vic). The conference starts at 0800 and finishes at 4.30 pm followed by the members tool sale at 6pm. There are nine speakers/demonstrators slated this year and the trades that will be covered are Colonial cabinet making, jewellery tools. harness making, pattern making, early mechanics tools, shipwright and sailmaking tools, coopers tools and plumbing tools. The "Frank Ham oration" will be given by Ian Stagg who will be known to many tool collectors. The speakers are all experts on their subject and are well recognised in their field. The conference fee includes morning and afternoon tea and a sit down lunch.
The fee for the tool day is $65 for HTPAA members and $75 for guests. PM me for more information or registration.
Regards
Dick
