    Default ID for plane blade?

    Hi anyone seen this symbol and know the maker looks english i think?
    Any help would be appreciated cheers.

    I recall that symbol from a thread several years ago (maybe 10 years) and possibly on the UK forum. Of course I've completely forgotten just whose symbol it is/was (sorry ).

    Hello Andy,
    I think the chimney logo may be EMIR and I think I can see Sheffield.
    Perhaps try the candle soot trick below to get a clearer image.

    I have a wooden Emir plane with that logo on the blade. Been a while since they planes however. Now they make wood mallets and even work benches.
