Quite understandable, although at the business end you are only talking 12V and very low current. The small battery chargers only deliver up to 4amps. The big advantage is that the active ingredient, the washing soda, only costs a few dollars. Everything else is pretty much what can be found in and around your house and shed.
However, best to go with what is comfortable for you.

Sorry for the late reply. I used the vinegar straight from the bottle
The label says “White Vinegar - water and vinegar” . No mention of strength.

Vinegar by default in Australia is 4% acetic acid. In the US it is 5%.
You can purchase double strength vinegar at Woolies (8%).
In the US Heinz sell pickling vinegar which is 20%.
You can also get 100% acetic acid which is known as Glacial acetic acid - so called because it freeezes / melts around 17C.
Edible vinegars are fermented. Cleaning vinegar is usually just dilute acetic acid and water.
As well as Evaporust and Metal Rescue there now an Australian made product that works using the same chelation process called Rust Bucket. It comes as a powder that you mix with water so is cheaper to ship and is cheaper than the other two.

I looked into that Rust bucket stuff and it looks like pretty good stuff I also located it on our local auction site with free shipping from Australia to New Zealand but metal rescue is cheaper by $17 and I can just walk into mitre10 or repco to buy it and not have to wait for it to come from across the other side of the pond as I have got 3 planes to restore.

well it has arrived and has been in the metal rescue for a whole of 5 hours and I have just pulled it out just waiting on the fence to finish its soak my 71-1/2 came out looking pretty good and most of the nickel plating intact, I have also got two boxes of no 55 irons coming for it which are hollow, quarter round , and the slitter (label on the box says box no3) and the other box has beading, reeding, and troughing irons in it I missed out on the other two boxes which had the ogee moulding cutters and sash cutters, also I currently have a bid on a box set of cutters that used to come with the 45.
