Robert Sorby Kangaroo Brand Woodturning Chisels
I have a set of Robert Sorby chisels I would like to restore. I’ve attached pics of some of the larger chisels. In particular I want to repair the handles. The yellow finish is rubbing off and the handles feel very dry, lightweight and rough to hold. What would be the best approach? Sand them back and apply something or make new handles? I am thinking longer heavier handles perhaps.

They look a bit short to me. I would be making new handles to the length and shape I like.

Blo
Have you tried using them? If you don't like the feel of those handles, then the answer is easy - make new ones (as Iromwood suggested).
If you do like the existing handles, scrape and sand off the yellow finish, then apply boiled linseed oil (BLO). Give them a good coating of BLO each day (several coats the first day), until the day you show up and some of the previous BLO has still not soaked in. Wipe off the excess BLO, then give them a week and repeat with BLO.
Once they've soaked in as much BLO as you can be bothered with, rubb them down with fine steel wool and wax them. You'll end up with a more tactile feel than with a ureathane finish (i.e. it'll feel more like you're holding wood, than plastic). The BLO will add weight to the handles - if you feel they're currently too light.
