Shopsmith 10E
I've just been given a Shopsmith 10E, Serial Number 2456. The motor runs, although the unit needs a new belt. I intend to use it solely in its horizontal drilling mode. I have the Shopsmith chuck, and the quill seems to move freely over its full travel. Two questions at this stage:
1* Does anyone have a 10E which they are using as a horizontal drilling machine? If so, I'd like some information about how well it works etc.
2* 2456 seems a very low serial number: I assume that means it was made in 1948 or 1949. Anyone able to give info re serial numbers?

This page will be handy.
Your parts source for the vintage Magna Engineering Shopsmith 10E and 10ER
I think apricotripper has a couple of them.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
