I charged a bit more for the ones I sold on ebay to cover the ebay and paypal fees (about 13%). Anyway, the truth of the matter is that I lost money on every sale on what they cost me as if I charged full tote odds I thought no one would buy them. I dreamed up $89 as the most I thought someone would pay! As I wrote in the "Tool Chest" article the real cost was well over $100. I figured I would get my money back on the second edition as it would only involve printing costs (she indoors loved that).

Since the books sold out about a year ago (published Feb 2016) I've had umpteen requests for a copy from all over which I have had to decline. Meanwhile I'm still collecting the chisels and any information that comes my way. Some people who have bought the book have sent information to me which will find its way into the eventual second edition. Next time I'll charge more although there has to be a ceiling beyond which people will not pay even though the book is getting better known. After all, Titan chisels are a very narrow interest with adherents that are looked upon as potentially a little bit off (nuts).

Sure thing mate, looking forward to reading it! The history of Australian woodworking tooling is really important to me so I’m glad you’ve taken on such an enormous task documenting Titan before the information disappears forever.

Well, its been a long time since I've posted here. Reason being I haven't been the best however OK now and back with a vengeance. My new Username is "Doggie 2". And the news? "The Book"- Collecting Titan Chisels has been re printed. It was first published in February 2016 and was all sold by December 6. After that date it was "Sorry mate they're all gone". Anyway, since then I've been getting an enquiry about once a week for a copy. To cut a long story short, I managed to convince the treasurer to reprint the book and its now available again. If anybody is still interested pm me and I'll give you the information. The book is now $99 plus postage.

The HTPAA Antique Tool Market is on again at St Anthony's hall in Carnegie on 17th March and I'll be there with my usual two tables PLUS a few "Collecting Titan Chisels" books to sell to the true believers. Since I picked them up at the printers I've got rid of a few boxes to folks who had wanted a copy over the last couple of years. Thank God I filed most of their addresses. I note that prices of Titans on ebay seemed to have risen on good examples. Ive seen some rare types go for more than my book on them.

Well, the book sales of the reprint are going well with 10% gone already and her-in-doors (SWMBO) is a happy woman and I have come out from the shadows and the dark mouldy places under the house. Hopefully these improved relations will get better as the stash of CTC's books are sold down. At the moment the consumption of wine in our house has not kept up with sales (I use the old wine cartons to protect the books in postage) and I've been pinching boxes from Dan Murphy's. That's not quite true as I get my granddaughter to take them and pretend they are for a school project. So far according to the store manager she's done twenty projects. I'll have to get her to change the story soon I guess. Anyway, that's the news so far.
