George III clock
I have always wanted to make a clock a real one I have made plenty of digital movement clocks but I wanted something with a soul, a mechanical movement.
So after spending an awful lot of money on parts (collected across two continents) and wood, I finally got around to starting the project. As I have been building I have been putting together a slide show attached is a PDf of the clock so far, as I near completion I will post some pictures.
So far I have spent about 30 hours to get this far and about ten times that just thinking about it.

Phil
Your retirement seems to have been a tonic for you. You seem to be always busy. I hope you are enjoying it. Has the wife gotten used to you around all day?
Edit...Add On my ever increasing to do list is a grand father type clock. The movement I thought I would use was close to 2k. So it might end up moving to a regret list. The other thing with me and a grandfather clock is where will it go in our house?Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

I got my movement from Clockworks in the US their prices were about half of what was on offer in Australia and with the exchange rate good at the moment it was even better.
I also used BFI fir some hard to get bits and CMI in Queensland for the brass ware. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

Phil,
Looking good. If you still do not have a nut to hold the hands on I have found a spare one. Give me a call if you need it.
Cheers
Peter

I have pulled the case apart and applied the finish, using blue glue I also glued some fancy paper to the back of the brass panels to keep the dust out.

The clock is finished, and is keeping perfect time and the chimes sound good also.
