After looking at that, (great photography I might add), I think
I might make a digital clock instead.

    Fantastic effort !

Imagine the brain-power needed just to work out how to wind it up!?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

I had a quick look and I know I am going to have to come back to it when I have more time.

I am drawn towards the complexity of it. I have a suspicion that to the maker it was not that complex but a series of logical solutions. Personally I don't think I could get an understanding of all of it.

    Very well done.

It would make a wonderful beginners project, just what you need to build your confidence up, before you tackle anything too complicated.
