Jacaranda Clock
I have a piece of jacaranda 330x330 approx. that's been cut length wise so I have a bit of natural edge on either side. I plan on using Danish oil as the finish. My question is about the numbers.
Will they stick to the piece after the finish is applied or should they be glued?
If glued do I use CA, epoxy ?
How long do I wait after the finish is applied so it cures enough to stick the numbers on?

I have stuck numbers(3, 6, 9 and 12) on a poly based finished piece and they remained there for years. The number 3 had started to move slightly and the finish was looking tired, so I decided that I might remove the numbers and refinish the clock face. The number 3 was easy but the other numbers were a pain to remove. This time I used epoxy to stick the numbers on the finish face. I have since given the clock away and I think everything is in the right position.

I have stuck numbers on a piece finished with hard burnishing oil and no problems yet.

Finished the clock. I use a shallow hole drilled in the face to take the black hour markers held in with CA. The letter at the top stuck quite well but time will tell as to longevity, although as I have donated it I may never find out.

That looks great! I have a clock in the works also, the mechanism just arrived this week. Won't get to it for a while though.
