2013 PDRacer world Champion is Rick in his prototype OzRacer RV
Just got the news on facebook.
Rick won the Championships.
I won the tenth annual PDRacer World Championship today. Dedicated the win to my friend Paul Helbert who passed away about three hours ago after a short but brave battle with cancer. He will be missed.

It's more like every World Championship that there has been a Storer designed PDR, it has won. Every. Single. Time. Mind you, being the Puddle Duck World Champion is much the same as being the tallest midget. (Apologies to any little people out there) I'll try to post some photos. The scenery was beautiful.

From the pictures it looks like there was very little wind. It is in such circumstances you need real skills to win. Without a doubt, a big sail area ("tallest midget", as it was called in the quoted text) puts one at advantage. Put together skills and a big balanced lug sail and you have the winner.

And to clear out on the fleet by significant amounts in three races shows a bunch of things were right

Puddleduck World Championships 2013 - YouTube
Here is a you tube clip of the tv interview. There are a couple of shots of my little blue boat ghosting along in glassy water with the masthead flag just hanging there. I can't believe I was still moving against the current. Feel free to critique my technique! I am self-taught with zero lessons.
Rick.
