Default 2014 GIS Calendar Call for Photos

Now hear this, now here this:

I have volunteered to assist MIK with collecting photos for the 2014 GIS calendar. There are many offered up on the GIS Facebook page, but we know there are several Goatees here that don't do Facebook. Here's your invitation and dedicated thread to contribute your photo nominations.

Don't limit yourself to your own boat or this past year. All Goat Island Skiffs are worthy for consideration. Try to avoid nominating a photo that's been published already, but don't worry if the nominee has been featured before.

With your consent, I'll transfer photos posted here to the Facebook calendar collection (there are over 40 there currently but many multiple if the same boat/event).

MIK would like to close the nomination period soon so we can start organizing the annual World Wide GIS Calendar Vote. Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2013 (midnight in what ever time zone you live).

    Goat HO!

One day past the deadline. I can sift through my GIS photos and check whether any would be worthwhile for the calendar. Where do I send them to (PM me off line) in case you still want them.

No, no... naked boats. Builders must be clothed. Crew? Let's talk...

You seem to be assuming that all boatbuilders are male, and all crew are female. Not necessarily the case. You might get some rude shocks.

Actually, I know of a few women builders, one is working on a GIS just south of me, but lets face it, there aren't that many. She hasn't posted here in a while, but I'll bet she's still hacking away at it.

Good for her. I've met a few pretty good female woodworkers of various types.

However, I was just imagining Davlafont's horror if he thought naked crews was a good idea, and found out the crew happened to be a beer-gutted middle-aged bloke of indeterminate parentage.

Okay, now I'm totally screwed, as the other half has seen this thread and is insisting I send the appropriate images of me and a few of my middle aged buddies, wearing only PFD's. Look what you've started . . .
