    Default Another amazing Storer Innovation

Storer dropped in today to spend a bit of time at the Home of the bitingmidge.

Mrs Midge was happily preparing a special Veggo Canneloni, which I am assured is a particularly messy and time consuming business in the absence of a bit of specialty gear.

Boatmik, who of course has spent a few years too many mixing epoxy bog in plastic bags, and clipping the corners off them to create neat fillets and glue lines decided there was an easier way.

    2. Take one freezer bag, and fill it with good stuff (here is some "we" made earlier)

    3. Twist the bag to fill it with air to make one of the corners stand out.

    4. Snip off the corner with a pair of handy scissors.

    5. Hold bag over top of erect canneloni shell, and lower it so that it touches the rim. This is important or it will flow outside and you will be in the sort of mess you usually are!

    6. See how tidy and mess free it all is?

    7. Will report back after baking!

NOTE TO MODS: This post is not in the cooking forum, as it contains a detailed explanation of how to prepare epoxy fillets using nought but a freezer bag. If ever you have a need to fill a canelloni shell with epoxy bog, this is how you would do it.

    Cheers,

    P

Just make sure you buy good quality bags to do this. The elcheapo homebrand bags tend to split especially if the mix is thick. Unfortunately I know this from experience
Have a nice day - Cheers

If the canneloni bag splits, it's not too much of a problem unless you have dogs in the house!

If the epoxy bag splits, it's really ugly! The quick fix is to plop the whole mess in another bag.

We've used lightweight fridge bags for epoxy a few years with no failures, but of course you don't want to have a really thick mix.

The alternative is to buy ziplock bags which are somewhat more durable, but I just can't stand the thought of spending another 1.5 cents per bag than I really need to!

    Cheers,

    P

    Smile No more gaps

I wash out empty no more gaps tubes and fill them with epoxy fillet mix.
Usually only when I have a lot do, and you really have to move fast as it starts to go off quickly in that quantity. Cant say I'v tried it with canneloni.

    Regards
