I have no idea what that means Mik...

I was talking about the ply used in Beth's construction? Maybe that clarifies?

I don't have plans yet, I'm just trying to theoretically piece together a cost analysis.

Christophe, I've done the video replay analysis:

You are hereby cited for failure to signal a change in your train of thought. Penalty: No boat building for one month! (and loss of a down)

I find fault with your analysis. By now Mik should be able to read my mind!

    Howdy,

Been a bit busy over the last bit with non boat related things.

As the Beth side ply is 4mm then the chine logs can theoretically be 12mm square. Three times the smaller of the ply thicknesses

However you would struggle to get temporary fasteners in without splitting them or coming through.

I did use that size and smaller when I built a raceboard (racing windsurfer). but stapled the thing together. Generlly I don't like staples much as they leave dark specks when the timber is epoxy coated. Much more noticeable than a hole from a temporary screw every 200mm or so.

    Best wishes

    MIK

How tall is the Beth's the rig off the water: Top of mast, and, Top of the peak-- unreefed.

    Looking for a bridge clearance.

    Perfect-- thank you!

I would like to have a winter project, but I don't have the $$$ for it right now. I must find a job first.

It would be a perfect project too, since it would fit in my basement room like the Goat couldn't, and I could work on it on even the coldest days.

Still where I always was MIK.

There's a river very nearby though, that wouldn't work for the Goat, but it would work well for the Beth. A good southerly flow during a summer frontal passage would boost me against the current no problems, and then I could float/paddle back. There are multiple low bridges though.
