Work in a mess? Alan, I think there's less room in my garage than when you saw it. Yesterday I must have crawled under my ply half a dozen times because I couldn't get around it and didn't want to move it while lining off. I have to do something soon or I won't be able to assemble the goat.

It really is a coffee roaster? Ha, I actually thought that was a very nice quality shop vacuum you had there, and that you were woody-in-joke-ingly calling it your new "coffee grinder" You've gotta admit, it does look a lot like a shop vacuum!

Um. Er. You already were. Alive, though.

Sorry to hear about the job and the way it was handled. Astoundingly, you are the not the only person I know who was let go that day. I guess bosses everywhere were trying to tidy up the books before the end of the year. No class and no empathy.

No Goat yet, but the Goat shed is coming along...

UPDATE: For the record, it was -2* without the wind chill this morning. Before the insulation it would have been +2 in the garage. This morning it was 37*.

Much easier getting the temp to 55 from 37 than 2!

It feels so cozy in here, I'm thinking about adding a sofa.

Yeah, it's cold. I try to leave the door between the basement and the garage open while epoxying, to bump the temperature a bit. According to the recording thermometer I've been using, My garage has hovered around 50 degrees most of the winter. But then I get in trouble with SWMBO for not hermetically sealing my mess factory. The epoxy itself lives in the basement, which thanks to the boiler and its small size, averages slightly warmer than the rest of the house through the winter. If you're not careful Alan, I'll be done before you're even marking out panels...

Nah, I'll at least have the panels marked out.

This garage project has taken on a life of its own. But I know myself and if I don't complete it now, I'll never get back to it later. I'll back sparkling and painting tomorrow. Then I have to tackle the floor...ugh.

Yes it is. Yesterday I just burned a few scraps of wood left over from the job while I was painting, keeping it around 66* in there...almost too warm when you're working. I put the last sliver in the stove about 6PM. At 6AM this morning it was -2* outside w/o the wind chill. Thermometer in the shop (can I call it a shop now instead of a garage?) read 44.8. I figure I can keep that room at 60* all day when it's 5* outside with about 6-7 chunks of firewood. That hole in the wall on the left is for a wall mount A/C. I think I'll get one with a heater and programmable thermostat remote. That should keep things from freezing. Then when I want to spend serious time out there I can throw a couple of shrimp on the barbie.

I'm so happy I could cry.

BTW, it's over 4 months now...no refined sugar, no flour. I feel amazing.

Alas, miles to go before boat wood gets butchered. I still have half my life on the front porch. I need to build some storage. I love organization...hate organizing.

Funny you should mention the waterline stripe. I just installed a shelf and I'm thinking about painting the leading edge Altec Lansing Gray to break up the white.

The shelf does double duty as task lighting. You know what they say, after you hit 40 you can't have too much light.

Getting close to moving the boat wood inside finally. The insulated floor is in:

There was a big step seam in the middle of the floor and it sloped almost 3" from back right to front left.

Sisters and Tapcons took care of both:

Tomorrow I'm building a wood rack and the GIS wood can finally come in to acclimate for a bit before the butchery can begin.
