I admire Alan's methodical approach. My "lumber" "rack" is a pile of wood against the far wall of the garage. It was fun excavating the side and bottom panels from that "rack" last week, after they'd had months to get buried progressively deeper.

Yep, been there, done that Brian. But I've learned from experience that I do not work well, or enjoy the process, when working in clutter. And for me, this is as much about having fun doing it, as having a boat when I'm done.

This is also about having a nice woodshop to build other things as well. I've wanted a proper shop all my life, and I've learned a lot about myself in the process. To paraphrase Erik Hollenbeck from Blue Ox Millworks: "there are only two types of jobs in the world, jobs where you shower before work, and jobs where you shower after work. And the world needs both of us". It's taken my 55 years and a heart attack to finally realize I've been showering at the wrong time of day.

Take a minute to watch his video. It's extremely well done.

Nice. Thanks for that Alan. So, are you selling your coffee, or making it for your own use.

I just picked up 877#, so I better be sellin'!

I know I should be cutting this wood and not storing it, but 6 sheets of ply are in my way preventing me from building a few fixtures, on which to cut the ply and assemble the boat.

I just love this lumber rack!

The latest sidetrack was a bandsaw restore. I traded my 14" Grizzly for a 20" Silver (made in 1909) and $200. So I got this heap for $300:

This is what it looked like at the previous owners so I had hopes I could figure it out:

Very long story short, here it is a few days later:

Waiting on tires and a blade, hence the lumber rack project.
