Normally, I would shy away from identifying anyone on the web who had not explicitly asked to be identified. I always make mailing lists and web listings "opt-in" rather than "opt-out". But all of these boats already have a very public presence on the web. I guess I wouldn't be making any new information public if I add them.

I think that's okay. Also like the way you are doing it with approximate location. City only. A live map, which I looked at a few months ago would have shown real location.

I fully agree on allowing people to make there down decision to publicize. And also agree that there's a point where public information is exactly that.

I can think of three US and one UK Goats that have frequented this forum that have yet to self-identify.

And I nominate our favorite designer and BETH sailor for a distinctive pin on the map (although his might need periodic shifting...)

I think that if it's already in the public domain, and you are not adding any new information, then that will OK. For example, the little list I gave you was from a basic google search.

Since MIK is all over the map, he is, literally, all over the map. I put a reference to him and his web site in the map description, at the very top of the page. Can't miss him now.

Re: Bruce's suggestions: Jack of Mudjimba is on the map. Setsuna will go on when she is finished. Having neither boat name nor current location, I couldn't do much with the third build. I may revisit that later, when I have a bit more time.

Going forward, I will consider anything publicly accessible via Flickr or Google to be fair game, although I will not use street addresses when placing the points. Public info is public.

OTOH, I will not spend a lot of time doing research trying to locate boats and marshal the relevant information. Too busy trying to get my own boat back in the water right now. Anyone who wants to help with research is welcome. Or we can just wait for self-identifiers to trickle in.

Lastly, I put PAR and Duckworks on the map in a different color to indicate that they might be helpful to anyone planning a build. I will be happy to add other helpful resources as requested. (This applies in particular to Clint. I've only hesitated because he has not yet requested that Bleat go on the map. Any reason you don't want to be there, Clint?)

There were two Goats built in San Francisco at a boatbuidling clinic for the Maritime National Historic Park, and then sold as a fundraiser. I wonder where they ended up? Here is their listing from 2009:

As you can see in the pictures, they built a green one and a red one.

My contact there was SETH. He was one of the contact people for the sailing school and boatbuilding classes. You might be able to call him at the Museum.

Ha! That red one is exactly how I have been thinking to paint my future boat! Now I got to see a photo of how it will be looking.
