I just saw the b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l pics of your boat and her paint job!

Just so you know, I was planning on painting my boat exactly like yours, but opposite with a red stripe below the gunwale and then the name in white. I still plan on doing this when winter rolls around. Please don't think I'm copying your design!

It's pretty exciting seeing it in living color. I still have a few things to do to the interior before i can sail, oh yeah and i need to finish sewing the sail too. But I think that i'll do a bit of rowing this weekend. I'm glad you like the color scheme. Striking the waterline was a pain, but fun at the same time. I followed MIK's instructions and I think it looks pretty good. I cant wait to see your boat with the red stripe. With their opposite colored stripes they'll make quite a pair at the small reach regatta eh?






In this next pic you can see little brass sleeves that i put in for the spar lashing points. Also there is a little teak cleat I made to adjust the out-haul tension.

I think you'll get the classy class points...

I mean, I never erased any of my pencil marks on the inside of my now-varnished boat since I was going to originally paint the inside... so just take it from there.

I wouldn't talk too soon. My inside still has a way to go, and there are more than a few imperfections and pencil lines under the epoxy. Wont make any difference at all in how well she sails though.

It needs 1 more coat of white tonight to cover some thin spots and then tomorrow I can flip her over and work on the inside of the hull. I still need to put the centercase front gusset in. And sanding too. . . still lots to sand. . .

The splash of red on the spars looks cute - I don't know if it will work visually or not ... but worth a shot. The boat really looks great. As far as I know this is the first one with the waterline painted in. Be really interesting to see how it looks on the water. MIK

Keep your fingers crossed. I just finished the last coat of white. I'm going to try to put it in the water and row it this weekend.

I know the red is subtle, but I think "it really ties the room together Dude"

Are you aware the dimansions on the GIS plan were millimetres - not centimetres.

Centimetres are only used for making frocks

Don't mind the blue colour..

I stitched up the sail this weekend. I nailed down a blue tarp to sort of keep my dacron clean.




My little pink sewing machine did a champion job of stitching through up to 7 layers of 5.5oz sailcloth. I think I need a new belt as it is pretty much burned out now.



Since I'm on a sewing kick I decided to sew up the loom protectors on the oars
