OzRacer sheer clamp
I'm starting a separate thread for this in case another beginner like me has the same question, it will show up easily in search. The plans do not mention sheer clamps anywhere in the text, and only one diagram mentions them but with no dimension or material spec. I assume the sheer clamps provide a gluing surface for decks as their main purpose.
Maybe this is obvious, but I would rather not guess, as I have limited resources. From which category of parts in the timber list does the sheer clamp come?

Forgive me for quoting wikipedia, but boatbuilding terminology is still new to me.
From wikipedia:
Gunwale - The upper, outside longitudinal structural member of the hull.
Inwale - The upper, inner longitudinal structural member of the hull, to which topside panels are fixed. In USA this is usually called the sheer clamp.

Based on this diagram from the plans, it looks like the sheer clamp might also be called a gunwale which would answer my question regarding timber material and dimension. Out of curiosity, what is the consensus on whether a sheer clamp is a gunwale or an inwale? Or does it matter?
