    Nice setup!
I like that centrecase-mounted rowing seat too.

    Howdy,

The general opinion of Andrew Linn's Salem Electron (which is the closest version of the OZ duck to get to a messabout) after several people had sailed it is that it felt like a sports car compared to the other Ducks.

The rowing seat is one of those wonderful lucky things. A normal centrecase would be further forward, but because of the big sails we are carrying the centrecase is slighly in the back half of the boat. Just about the perfect position to put a drop in seat in the case.

Note how it is prevented from wobbling because it sits on the top crossways support on Frame #1.

Yep, very nice setup. I like the oars too. Been thinking about them...how long should they be and where exactly would you possition them?

    Nice work Perttu.

    Howdy Koala,

The oars need to be about 8ft in theory. But most will choose some a little shorter for stowage reasons.

For the Texas 200 they stored them along the outside of the boat, or Perttu looks like he uses two piece oars.

If storing them on the outside they need to be as high up the side of the boat as possible away from the water.

The Position of the oarlock (the pivot when you are using the oar on the side of the boat) needs to be 300mm behind the back of the seat.
